Edward Bigland has been working in the music industry since leaving university, running the Wilde Ones record shop in Chelsea, working for Arabesque and Changing World Distribution supplying WOMAD with electronic world fusion and The Big Chill with all the performing artist CD stock. He ran an online retailer specialising in lounge and world fusion CD’s. Since starting a DJ agency with his sister Lucy four years ago, he has been organising events, DJ bookings, and DJing private events up and down the country and across the world from Africa to Australia.
Lately he has carved out a reputation for playing bespoke lounge music DJ sets for high end events. These have included a private James Bond party in Morocco for Admirable Crichton with an hour of classical Russian music during dinner and then an hour and half of James Bond remixes. More recently he played Northumbrian small pipe music for Sting’s birthday during dinner and English chamber music for a luncheon the next day. Edward Bigland’s repertoire is based in ambient / lounge music but has a wider scope into modern world fusion due to his ethnomusicology experience.
His latest enterprise is http://www.auraclesound.co.uk a broadband background music service supplying the latest lounge grooves and chillout music to hotel’s, bars, restaurants, and shops.
